Best known for voicing Lilo in Lilo & Stitch and portraying the terrifying Samara Morgan in The Ring, Chase has reportedly died at the age of 35.

According to reports, Chase passed away on Tuesday after battling meningitis and a severe blood infection that developed into sepsis. Her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, told TMZ that her condition worsened to the point where her body eventually shut down

Chase had recently been hospitalized in Los Angeles while fighting multiple health complications.

Born in Las Vegas on July 29, 1990, Daveigh Chase entered the entertainment industry at a young age and quickly established herself as one of Hollywood’s most recognizable child stars.

Her breakthrough came in 2002 when she voiced Lilo Pelekai in Disney’s beloved animated film Lilo & Stitch. Her heartfelt performance as the spirited Hawaiian girl instantly connected with audiences around the world and turned her into a household name.

That same year, she showcased her incredible range by taking on a completely different role. Chase starred as Samara Morgan in the horror phenomenon The Ring, delivering a chilling performance that remains one of the most memorable in modern horror cinema. Her portrayal earned her an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.

Throughout her career, Chase lent her voice and acting talents to numerous projects. She voiced Chihiro in the English-language version of the Academy Award-winning animated film Spirited Away and appeared in productions such as Donnie Darko and HBO’s Big Love.
