Trying to get rid of his wife, a husband drove her into the forest and planned to leave her there alone in the middle of the night. But suddenly, a huge wolf blocked his path, and what happened next was truly terrifying… 
Over the past few months, Alex had been thinking more and more that marrying Victoria had been a mistake.
There was a time when he genuinely loved her, but over the years those feelings had faded. In their place came another woman, someone for whom he was willing to start an entirely new life.
Alex had no desire to divide property or go through a divorce. It seemed to him that there was a much simpler way to solve the problem.
The plan did not come together overnight. For several weeks, he thought through every detail before finally deciding to act.
One evening, he suggested that his wife take a trip out of town with him and spend some time relaxing. Victoria suspected nothing and agreed.
During the drive, Alex secretly mixed a sleeping pill into her drink. Before long, the woman fell asleep.
By the time the car turned onto a forest road, there were no houses or people anywhere nearby. It was a cold winter night. Snow covered the ground between the trees, and the wind swayed the bare branches overhead.
Alex stopped the car, stepped outside, and listened to the silence for a moment.
Then he opened the door, lifted his wife into his arms, and headed deeper into the forest.
He wanted to leave her as far from the road as possible. Somewhere she would not be able to quickly find her way back.
Alex walked for a long time through the trees until he noticed a large old tree with a wide trunk standing ahead.
“No one will find you here,” he muttered.
The man was just about to place the woman on the snow and walk away when he suddenly heard a rustling sound.
Looking up, he saw a wolf. The enormous gray animal stood only a few yards away, staring directly at him.
Alex froze. His heart pounded so hard that he could hear his own pulse. The wolf took one step forward. Then another.
The man slowly began backing away while still holding Victoria in his arms.
But suddenly, the animal lunged forward… And then something truly horrifying happened

The wolf charged straight toward him.
Terrified, Alex screamed, dropped his wife onto the snow, and ran off through the trees.
He raced forward without looking back, stumbling and falling, convinced that the wolf was chasing him.
Only after several minutes did he dare to turn around.
But there was no one behind him. The wolf had never intended to chase him. Instead, the animal returned to where the woman was lying, carefully approached her, and sat beside her.
For several minutes, it studied her face closely before beginning to lick her hands and cheeks.
After a while, Victoria stirred.
The woman slowly opened her eyes and at first could not understand where she was.
A huge wolf was sitting right in front of her. Startled, she quickly sat up, but the animal showed no aggression.
It simply looked at her calmly and did not even try to move closer.
Gradually, Victoria began to remember the events of the evening. She realized that she was alone in the middle of the forest.
Fortunately, it was not so dark that she could not see anything. Moonlight illuminated the snow-covered path between the trees.
The woman noticed numerous tracks in the snow.
Among them were Alex’s footprints.
Realizing that she could not stay there, Victoria began following those tracks back.
The wolf continued walking nearby for some time, keeping its distance.
Then it stopped and disappeared among the trees. About an hour later, the woman managed to reach the road, where she was spotted by passing motorists.
Later, she told the police everything that had happened that night. Alex was arrested the very next day.
Until the trial, the man kept insisting that the wolf was to blame for everything. But no one believed him. After all, it was the wolf that had prevented him from carrying out his plan and, in effect, saved the life of the woman whom her own husband had intended to leave behind to die in the freezing winter forest.
