At a casual family dinner, my husband Jonah made a hurtful comment that shifted the mood instantly.

In front of his parents and our children, he joked that I had “baby-trapped” him.

While he laughed it off, I was stunned.

Our first pregnancy had been unexpected—I was 19 and on long-term birth control at the time

yet I worked, studied, and supported both of us without complaint.
