During the wedding, my mother-in-law poured red wine all over my white dress, and all the guests, even my fiancé, laughed at me, calling it just a joke. But only a few minutes later, I did something that made my mother-in-law deeply regret what she had done 😱

From the very beginning of our relationship, my mother-in-law was against me.

She disliked literally everything about me. She believed that her son deserved a woman from a wealthy family, not an ordinary schoolteacher like me.

Every time we met, she found a reason to hurt me. Sometimes it was a cutting remark, sometimes mockery, and sometimes outright humiliation disguised as friendly advice.

At first, I tried not to pay attention. I thought that with time she would get used to me. But things only got worse.

When we announced our engagement, she didn’t even try to hide her dissatisfaction. She smiled whenever her son was around, but the moment he left the room, her expression changed completely.

“You will never become part of our family,” she once told me quietly.

I told my fiancé about it, but he only shrugged.

“You take everything too personally. Mom is just joking.”

I heard that phrase more and more often.

“She’s just joking.”

“Don’t pay attention.”

“That’s just how she is.”

Over time, I realized that my future husband would always find excuses for her behavior.

But the wedding had already been planned, the invitations had been sent out, and the guests had been invited, so I hoped that at least on that day everything would go smoothly.

How wrong I was.

We decided to hold the wedding on a luxurious yacht. That evening, the deck was decorated with string lights, music was playing, guests were taking pictures against the sunset, and I finally began to believe that this day could actually be a happy one.

After the ceremony, everyone raised their glasses.

My mother-in-law approached me with a smile.

“Let’s take a beautiful photo to remember this day,” she said.

I turned toward the photographer.

At that moment, she suddenly lifted her glass and poured all the red wine directly onto my dress.

The crimson stains instantly spread across the white fabric. Silence fell over the deck. For a few seconds. Then laughter erupted.

First, my mother-in-law laughed. Then her friends. Then the guests. Some even started recording the scene on their phones.

I stood in the middle of the deck, staring at my ruined dress. What shocked me most wasn’t my mother-in-law’s action. It was my fiancé’s reaction. He was laughing too.

Not as loudly as the others, but he was laughing.

Then he looked at me and said:

“Don’t be upset. It’s just a joke.”

At that moment, something inside me seemed to break, and suddenly I did something that made my mother-in-law deeply regret what she had done 😲😲 You can find the continuation of this story in the first comment 👇

I slowly looked at my mother-in-law. She was still laughing.

Then I walked up to her.

“Do you really think this is funny?” I asked calmly.

“Of course. You should have seen your face,” she replied and burst out laughing again.

I nodded.

Then, unexpectedly, I grabbed her hand.

My mother-in-law didn’t even have time to understand what was happening.

With one quick movement, I pulled her toward the edge of the yacht.

A second later, she fell into the water with a loud scream.

Silence returned to the deck.

This time, no one was laughing.

The guests stared down in horror. Some rushed toward the railing.

My fiancé turned pale and shouted:

“What are you doing?!”

I slowly turned toward everyone gathered there.

“What happened?” I asked calmly. “It’s just a joke, isn’t it?”

No one answered.

I looked at my fiancé.

“Why isn’t anyone laughing? Or do you only find it funny when I’m the one being humiliated?”

People began lowering their eyes.

Some guests looked visibly embarrassed.

Even those who had been laughing the loudest just a few minutes earlier.

Meanwhile, my mother-in-law was splashing around beside the yacht, screaming for help.

Someone immediately threw her a life ring, so she was never in any real danger.

But her expensive makeup was ruined, her hairstyle had fallen apart, and her dress was completely soaked.

I took the ring off my finger and placed it in my fiancé’s palm.

“Thank you for showing me today whose side you’re really on.”

After those words, I turned around and walked toward the gangway.

Behind me, I could hear shouting, commotion, and angry voices, but I never looked back.

That evening, I lost a wedding. But I kept my self-respect.
