A man pushed his wife from a moving train, wanting to get rid of her and take possession of her property, but he could not even imagine what would happen just a few minutes later 
The train rumbled slowly across an old railway bridge over a deep canyon. Far below, the river roared, and the wind moved between the carriages, making the metal structures creak softly. Several passengers stood by the windows, looking at the mountains painted by the evening sun.
Marina stepped out onto the narrow platform between the carriages. She leaned on the cold railing and closed her eyes for a second, trying to calm her thoughts. Behind her, the figure of her husband appeared.
Alexei approached almost silently.
— Beautiful, isn’t it? he said calmly.
Marina smiled slightly and looked down.
— Very… even a little scary. Look how high it is.
Her husband stepped closer. Too close.
He remained silent for a few seconds, as if gathering his thoughts. Then he said quietly:
— You know… sometimes life makes everything much simpler than we think.
Marina frowned and turned to him.
— What do you mean?
But she never heard the answer.
In the next second, Alexei suddenly pushed her with both hands.
Marina didn’t even have time to scream. Her body instantly disappeared over the railing, dissolving into the emptiness beneath the bridge. Only her light pink dress flashed in the air for a moment before disappearing below.
The train kept moving.
Alexei stood motionless, breathing heavily. He quickly looked around — there was no one on the platform. The carriage door behind him swayed quietly in the wind.
— That’s it… he whispered to himself. — It’s over.
He straightened his jacket, took a few steps back, and opened the carriage door.

At that moment, a voice came from the other side of the corridor.
— Excuse me… were you just on the platform?
Alexei froze.
In front of him stood a man about forty years old holding a camera.
— I film travel videos for a blog, he said calmly. — An amazing bridge… I was just recording a video through the window.
He slightly raised the camera.
— And I think… everything that just happened was captured on camera.
Alexei felt a chill slowly rising up his spine.
— The train will stop at the next station soon, the man added quietly. — I think… we should speak with the conductor.
Alexei said nothing. He did not yet know that the worst for him would begin very soon.
Because down below, under the bridge, something had happened that he could never have expected.
Marina was falling through the empty air for several long seconds. The wind struck her face, and the air tore the breath from her chest. But directly beneath the bridge flowed a wide mountain river.
Her body hit the water with enormous force.
The cold pierced her entire body. For a moment she lost consciousness, but the current pushed her back to the surface. Marina gasped for air and tried to stay afloat.
On the shore not far away stood a fishing boat. Two men first heard a loud splash and then saw a woman in the water.
— A person in the river! Quickly! one of them shouted.
They steered the boat toward her, and within a few minutes they were already pulling Marina aboard.
She was pale, shivering from the cold, but alive.
— Who did this? one of the fishermen asked, covering her with a jacket.
Marina opened her eyes with difficulty.
— My husband… she whispered.
Meanwhile, the train was already approaching the next station. Alexei stood by the window trying to look calm.
He had no idea that the woman he had just pushed from the bridge had miraculously survived… and that very soon the police would be waiting for him right on the platform.
