A huge shark with its mouth wide open swam towards the diver: the man initially thought the shark was attacking until he saw what was in its mouth đąđ¨
As the team of marine biologists descended into the depths, the water around them grew denser and darker, as if pulling them into its silent world. The diver, named Mark, led the way, illuminating the way with a powerful flashlight. Behind him, three colleagues moved along, checking their equipment and recording rare fish species on their tablets. They hoped to find new traces of the migration of marine predators, making this dive particularly important.
Mark scanned the darkness intently: glittering schools of fish swam by, jellyfish that resembled transparent spheres, and small sharks that kept their distance. Everything went smoothly until suddenly a shadow darted past behind him. Clear, powerful, much too large.
He froze. A chill ran down his spine, even though the water was already icy cold.
âDid you see that?â he gestured.
His colleagues replied that they had not noticed anything strange.
But Mark felt itâthere was someone there. Something big. And very close.
He turned around slowly.
And he saw her⌠A massive shark, so large it blocked part of his view. A tiger shark, judging by its striped body. It swam straight toward the diver, determined, without any sudden movements. Mark understood that escape was impossibleâthe predator was far too close.
His heart pounded so loudly it seemed the entire ocean could hear it. The shark came even closer, stopping almost right in front of him. And then⌠she slowly opened her mouth.
Mark, terrified, had to control himself from flinching. It looked like the shark was about to attack. Just one more secondâand it would all be over. But then he saw something strange in its mouth⌠đąđ¨ Continued in the first comment đđ
In the light of his lamp, something glinted between the sharp teeth.
Mark narrowed his eyes. There was no marine debris or prey in the shark’s mouth.
A huge fishhook was lodged between her teeth, deeply embedded in the soft tissue. A piece of fishing line dangled beneath her gills, causing excruciating pain.
The shark didn’t attack. She suffered. She couldn’t even eat. Desperate, she begged people for help.
Mark slowly reached out his hand, his whole body trembling. The shark remained perfectly still and waited patientlyâas if understanding that its last chance of survival depended on himâŚ
