Born Eric Hilliard Nelson in 1940,
Ricky Nelson became one of rock’s first teen idols.
He gained fame on his parents’ sitcom
The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet before
launching a music career with hits like
I’m Walking, Garden Party, and Travelin’ Man.
In 1963, he married Kristin Harmon,
and they had four children.
However, their marriage deteriorated
due to substance abuse, leading to divorce.
Tragically, in 1985,
Nelson died in a plane crash en route to a New Year’s show.
His twin sons, who were supposed to join him,
were spared due to a last-minute decision.
Today, they honor his legacy through music.
