Right after giving birth, my husband and mother-in-law burst into the room and began forcing me to sign some papers: I resisted as much as I could, until I realized with horror what exactly was written in those documents

— Sign this, dear. It’s just formalities. For registering the baby.

My husband came closer, wrapped an arm around my shoulders, and forced a smile as well:

— Come on, quickly. You need to rest.

But something inside me went cold. I noticed how they exchanged glances — far too nervous. I reached for the papers, not to sign, but to read.

— I want to look at them first, — I said.

My mother-in-law’s face darkened instantly:

— You don’t need to read that. You just gave birth, you’re exhausted. Just sign.

When I tried to take the papers, my husband suddenly grabbed my hand, squeezing so hard I started crying from the pain.

— Sign it, — he hissed through his teeth. — We’ve already wasted enough time.

I tried to pull away, but he held my wrist tightly and practically pushed my hand toward the bottom of the page. My mother-in-law had already shoved a pen into my hand.

— Faster! — she snapped. — Before the doctors come.

And when I saw the title on one of the pages, terror washed over me as I realized what they were trying to do to me. 😱😨 Continued in the first comment 👇👇

The words seemed to burn into my eyes:

“Relinquishment of parental rights to the newborn”

For a moment, the world stopped. I felt something collapse inside me.

— WHAT IS THIS?! — I screamed, jerking my hand so abruptly that the pen fell to the floor. — Have you lost your minds?!

My husband tried to force me back onto the bed, but I managed to reach the emergency button with my fingertips. I pressed it. With all the strength I had.

The door flew open almost immediately. Two nurses and the doctor rushed in. My husband jumped back, and my mother-in-law clutched the papers to her chest as if they were something precious.

— They… they were trying to force me to give up my own child! — I cried.

The doctor demanded the documents at once. My mother-in-law resisted, but one of the nurses ripped the stack out of her hands.
A minute later, everything was clear.

They had truly tried to make me sign away my baby right there in the room, while I was weak, on IV fluids, unable to defend myself.

Later, I learned the truth.

My husband had been wanting a divorce for a long time, but his family insisted on an heir. They wanted the baby — but without me. They counted on me signing, and then they would take the boy and erase me from their lives.

But their plan failed.

I filed a report, security was called, my husband was removed from the hospital, and my mother-in-law was banned from approaching me or the baby.
