Gremlins and Star Wars actor Mark Dodson has died. He was sixty-four.
About 170 miles southwest of Indianapolis, in Evansville, Indiana, the star reportedly died while attending a fan convention.
According to TMZ, Mark suffered a “massive heart attack” while dozing off at his hotel in Indiana.
According to his daughter, Ciara, who was in the Evansville Horror Con 2024 area, her father passed away.
Her father, she told them all, “was always proud of me.”
Mark planned to attend the meeting on both Saturday and Sunday.
The talent roster also included Sean Whalen from Twister, Jason Hawes from Ghostbusters, and Bam Margera from Jackass.
In addition to a paid photo shoot and signing autographs with fans, Mark was scheduled to participate in a panel on Sunday.
Mark posted a message on Instagram a few days ago: “Come see me this weekend in #Evansville #horrorcon #starwars #gremlins.”
Mark has been a voice actor since childhood. He is most famous for his work on the Gremlins film series.
He first provided the voice of Salacious Crumb for the Star Wars video games and films in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
The last role Mark had was Adam Hamada in Ghostrunner || a a video game that came out last year.
Mark’s rep informed the news site, “His signature voice and sound added to every character and script he touched.”
“It is with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Mark Dodson last night,” the Evansville Horror Con actor said on Facebook.
“Mark was not only a talented voice actor, but also a respected member of the horror community,” they said. “Our condolences and thoughts go out to his family, friends, and fans at this very difficult time.
“We hope you can take a moment out of your day to reflect on the joy and laughter Mark brought to the world. His legacy will live on through his work.”
