A recent development has sparked speculation that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be considering a return to public royal life —

described by some as the “clearest sign yet” — leaving royal insiders reportedly “completely baffled.”

Since stepping down from their official duties five years ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have often surprised the

Royal Household with their actions and public statements.

This includes high-profile allegations of racism against unnamed royal family members, and more recently, a video shared by Meghan showing her dancing playfully in a maternity ward before the birth of their daughter, Lilibet.

Sources close to the couple have now revealed details about passport applications for their children,

Prince Archie (6) and Princess Lilibet (4). The applications are said to include the use of the HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles alongside the surname “Sussex.”

This move is seen as allowing their children the choice to engage in royal duties or remain private as they grow older, according to The Mirror.

Some royal commentators interpret this as a significant indication that Harry and Meghan may be considering reengagement with royal life. Daily Mail royal correspondent Richard Eden remarked, “This may be the biggest hint yet that they’re looking to repair relationships.”

He continued, “It also prompts the question: Could the Sussexes, who left royal life behind for opportunities in the U.S., now be contemplating a return —

this time through their children?”

The original revelation appeared in The Guardian last week. The paper reported:

“The Guardian understands that Prince Harry wants to retain the HRH titles for his children so they can decide for themselves, once older, whether to take on public roles or lead private lives.”

The news has reportedly left royal insiders puzzled, especially given the couple’s past criticism of life within the monarchy. Eden quoted a royal source as saying

: “It’s difficult to understand. Harry and Meghan claimed royal duties were unbearable — why would they now want that path open for their children?”

He added, “It’s worth remembering how openly they spoke about their departure.

Harry even smiled in a video referencing their ‘freedom flight’ to Los Angeles back in 2020.”

Meghan has also hinted at future plans involving her daughter, mentioning the possibility of starting a business together.

A source recently told PEOPLE magazine that Meghan is firmly focused on the future and is “very business-oriented,” while Harry is reportedly still “holding on to the past.”
