On the night of October 4, 2024, Emma C. Brungardt,
the 2024 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas, tragically died in a single-vehicle accident.
The crash occurred on County Road 21, leaving five others injured,
including her rodeo teammates.
The vehicle, driven by an 18-year-old from Flagler,
Colorado, crashed into a row of trees, and Emma, 19, passed away at the scene.
Emma, a sophomore at Colby College,
was majoring in equine management
and was known for her talent in rodeo events such as goat tying and team roping.
A member of the Colby College Community Rodeo Team,
she was remembered for her kind heart and positive personality.
Emma had earned grand champion titles in the Kansas Wild Horse
Youth Challenge and competed in the Kansas High School Rodeo Association.
Her death has deeply impacted her community,
and both her rodeo team and the Miss Rodeo
Kansas Pageant expressed their condolences,
honoring Emma’s spirit and legacy in the rodeo world.
