Melania Trump’s wedding dress ‘for sale’ on eBay for eye-watering amount

eBay is known for hosting a vast array of items, but one listing left a woman stunned—it appeared to be selling First Lady

Melania Trump’s wedding dress, the same gown she wore when she married the now-President.

Melania’s opulent Christian Dior dress, designed by John Galliano, from her January 2005 wedding to Donald Trump

was listed for sale at $45,000 (or best offer)—a steep discount from the reported $100,000 she originally paid for it.

Writer Liana Satenstein alerted her “Neverworns” Substack subscribers on Tuesday, March 25, that the couture gown seemed to be up for grabs on eBay.

According to the seller, the dress has only been worn twice—once by Melania and once by the current owner,

who claimed to have purchased it directly from the First Lady in 2010 for $70,000 to wear at her own wedding.

The extravagant gown, which boasts over 500 hours of hand-sewn Swarovski crystal beading and a dramatic 13-foot train, has been listed on eBay since January but has yet to find a buyer.

Skepticism over the dress’s authenticity may be playing a role in the lack of interest.

A source told WWD that the listing does not feature Melania’s actual wedding dress, which is still in her possession at Mar-a-Lago.

The seller acknowledged making significant alterations to the gown, explaining in the eBay listing: “Because Melania Trump was a size 0-2, I had to have this dress made a little bigger as I was a size 4-6.

“I added a new layer of satin to the bottom of the dress and a few more embroidery pieces on the top, plus there was a new layer of fabric added to the back of the dress and straps as my chest is much bigger than Melania’s.”

Melania famously donned the lavish gown, along with its matching 16-foot veil, on the cover of Vogue in February 2005, just after her Palm Beach wedding.

The dress itself was an elaborate creation, featuring 300 feet of white duchesse satin and intricate crystal embroidery. The wedding was a star-studded affair, attended by A-list guests such as Bill and Hillary Clinton, Katie Couric, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Donald Trump proposed to Melania in April 2004, six years after they began dating, and the couple welcomed their son, Barron Trump, in March 2006.

Now 19 years old, Barron has been thrust into the spotlight more than ever since his father returned to the White House for a second term.

Standing at an impressive 6’7″, Barron is hard to miss, yet he has maintained a low profile and avoids public speaking, unlike his father. He is currently a freshman at New York University, continuing to keep his life largely private despite the increased attention.
