I found something strange in the yard — small, white, round balls: I was horrified when I realized what they were 😲

In the yard, I noticed a patch of soil that looked odd — as if someone had scattered tiny white beads in it. I went closer, crouched down, and froze: they were smooth, round, almost like pearls. At first, I thought they were bits of plastic or beads, but they looked far too natural.

I put on gloves and carefully began to dig through the soil. The little balls were soft and slightly elastic, almost like jelly. The feeling was unsettling — and the thought crossed my mind that they might be eggs. But whose? Birds? Insects?

I brought the find closer to the house, placed it under the light, and examined it more carefully. Inside some of the balls, I could see tiny dark dots. Then I searched online and realized what it was… 😲😲 Continued in the first comment 👇👇

It was snail eggs.

At first, I felt uneasy. I remembered how quickly snails reproduce and how they can destroy a whole garden bed overnight.

What’s more, some species — especially tropical ones — can carry parasites that are dangerous to humans. That’s why it’s important never to touch such eggs with bare hands and not to leave them in the soil.

I carefully collected the clutch and poured boiling water over it — to prevent an invasion. Then I cleaned the area and checked the rest of the garden.

Now I know: even those innocent-looking “pearls” in the ground can hide an entire generation capable of destroying a harvest. And they’re a reminder that nature is always close — even when it seems there’s nothing under our feet but dirt.
