Helicopter Crashes into Hudson River, Killing Family of Five and Pilot – Here’s What We Know

A Bell 206 helicopter crashed into the Hudson River near Hoboken at 3:17 p.m.

after departing from Wall Street Heliport.

Witnesses reported the aircraft made

a sharp turn before spiraling out of control and nose-diving into the water.

Video footage shows the helicopter spinning and losing parts mid-air,

suggesting a possible mechanical failure.

All six occupants died.

Emergency crews quickly responded, and the victims’ bodies were recovered.

The FAA confirmed the incident,

with the NTSB leading the investigation into potential causes,

including mechanical failure or pilot error

.Among the victims was Agustin Escobar,

Global CEO of Rail Infrastructure at Siemens Mobility. His death,

is being mourned worldwide for his contributions to sustainable transportation.

The helicopter, operated by New York Helicopter,

had a strong safety record.

Experts noted that missing rotor blades suggest a rare and catastrophic malfunction.
