He Thought His Wife Was In Danger, But Then He Saw This

As he walked inside, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was against one wall. The TV was on loudly, showing cartoons.

The family room was filled with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen,

dishes were piled in the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was wide open, dog food was scattered on the floor,

a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

Worried, he quickly headed upstairs, stepping over more toys and piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He feared she might be ill or something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water coming from the bathroom.

As he peeked inside, he found wet towels, soap, and more toys scattered on the floor.

Miles of toilet paper were piled up, and toothpaste had been smeared on the mirror and walls.

Rushing to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in bed, in her pajamas,

reading a novel. She looked up, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He stared at her, bewildered, and asked, “What happened here today?”

She smiled again and replied, “You know how every day when you come home from work you ask me what I do all day…?”

“Yes,” he said, still in shock.

“Well,” she said, “today, I didn’t do it.”
