Last night, my boyfriend invited me to dinner to met his family. After he introduced me to his mom and dad, he looked at me and says ‘Hope you brought your wallet. We’re starving.’ I froze. The next second, his dad stood up and my blood froze when he said — “Don’t worry, we’re only teasing you.” The entire table burst into laughter, and I realized they were simply trying to break the ice, though their humor was far more intense than I expected.
