Paris, October 23 — A major jewelry store robbery shocked the French capital late
Tuesday night, after a group of masked thieves stormed a luxury boutique in the city’s 8th district.
According to official police sources, at least four individuals, all wearing dark clothing and face coverings,
broke through reinforced glass at approximately 11:10 p.m.
Witnesses described the heist as
“swift and professional,” with the suspects spending no more than five minutes inside before fleeing with high-value watches, jewelry, and cash.
Security footage captured two of the suspects entering and leaving the store, but their faces were fully covered.
The robbers reportedly escaped in a black vehicle parked nearby, which was later found abandoned a few blocks away.
Local police confirmed that specialized investigation units, including the organized crime division, have been assigned to the case.
No arrests have been made so far, but the total value of stolen goods is estimated to reach several hundred thousand euros.
The store owner is working closely with authorities and insurance representatives to catalog the stolen items through serial numbers and receipts.
Meanwhile, residents of the neighborhood are calling for stronger night patrols,
citing a rise in late-night break-ins over recent months.
“This is becoming a real concern for us,” said one shopkeeper in the area.
“We need better surveillance and more visible police presence.”
Investigations remain ongoing, and officials have
urged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station or call the emergency hotline.
