The police said it has not yet been determined who was behind the wheel.

Early indications suggest that the Toyota had not been speeding before the crash.

‘A Toyota Yaris left the road for unexplained reasons and hit a tree,’ a police spokesperson told Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowy. ‘The footballer’s 18-year-old sister died at the scene, and the 17-year-old footballer was taken to hospital.

‘The causes of the accident are unknown, but according to initial findings, the vehicle was not moving at high speed.

‘The police have not yet determined who was driving the car.’

Jezewski plays for Legia’s Under-17 side and represented his country in the same category last autumn, playing in two friendly matches against Albania.

The talented striker was previously on the books in Wisla Plock’s academy.
