Over the weekend, a tragic car crash on
I-95 in McIntosh County, Georgia, claimed the lives of Reagan Dougan,
27, and her four young children.
The family was traveling from Raleigh,
North Carolina, to Florida when their rental Jeep hit a sedan, went into a guardrail,
and burst into flames. All five family members,
including a 9-year-old boy, a 4-year-old boy, a 2-year-old girl,
and a 3-month-old boy, were killed.
Reagan was remembered as a devoted mother by neighbors, and a GoFundMe
was created to support her grieving husband, Christian Dougan.
In a separate tragedy on April 4, 2025, 9-year-old Gabriel
Andrews drowned in floodwaters while walking to his bus stop in Frankfort,
Kentucky. Gabriel had just turned nine days earlier.His death,
which occurred during heavy rainfall, shocked his community
and led to questions about the decision to keep schools open despite the flooding risks.
Gabriel was remembered as a sweet,
kind boy by his teachers and classmates.
